Cryptowall is a ransomware Trojan virus similar to Cryptorbit and CyrptoLocker. The virus infects a computer and encrypts crucial files. Cryptowall can affect files including *.doc, *.docx, *.xls, *.ppt, *.psd, *.pdf, *.eps, *.ai, *.cdr, and *.jpg.
Who is vulnerable to a CryptoWall?
CryptoWall is designed to infect all versions of Windows including XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. If you are still using XP, you are especially vulnerable as support for XP ended on April 8th with no updates.
