eMazzanti Gives All To Networks In Need | CRN Magazine

By Matt Villano

As small businesses invest in different technologies to secure their corporate networks, their owners are faced with a significant question: When do they hire a full-time IT staff?

With the help of eMazzanti Technologies, the decision is easy. This Hoboken, N.J.-based solution provider prides itself on fulfilling the role of IT department for most of its small- and midsize-business customers. The result is a host of relationships that stretch far beyond the technology itself.

eMazzanti offers varying levels of IT service, depending on its customer’s needs. In some cases, the VAR serves as the IT department. In others, it acts as the IT director, and the customer’s staff takes over the role of help desk and support, said Jennifer Shine, vice president of marketing and business development. “Even if they have some IT people there on staff, we’re the ones making decisions on how the network should support the growth of their business,” she said.

Shine said eMazzanti offers firewall and VPN solutions from vendors such as WatchGuard, Symantec, RSA Security and Trend Micro, to name a few. The solution provider also offers employee training, flexible staffing, consulting and custom-developed products to incorporate existing applications and infrastructure.

One such custom project recently involved a series of log-in scripts for a small financial company in
New York . In the past, other projects have incorporated innovation on the strategic level, revolutionizing customer lockdown efforts with rigorous password policies.

Customers have touted eMazzanti’s staff as “miracle workers.” Vendors agreed. Daron Benbenisti, WatchGuard’s territory account manager for New York and
New Jersey , said that although the VAR sells to businesses with fewer than 50 employees, it is still one of the biggest contributors to the vendor’s channel program. “They choose products that feature functionalities that are easy to use and designed to last,” he said. “When they walk away, their clients will be set up.”
