eMazzanti reacts to the Target security breach
Like many of you, we at eMazzanti recently received correspondence from Target. It details the security breach that they suffered in mid-December where criminals forced their way into their systems, stealing the personal information of millions of their loyal customers. And they are not alone. The same has happened recently with Neiman Marcus and according to Reuters, at least three other well-known US retailers.

Dear Target Guest,

As you may have heard or read, Target learned in mid-December that criminals forced their way into our systems and took guest information, including debit and credit card data. Late last week, as part of our ongoing investigation, we learned that additional information, including name, mailing address, phone number or email address, was also taken. I am writing to make you aware that your name, mailing address, phone number or email address may have been taken during the intrusion.  Read more →

Safeguard and Protect Your Small Business Data

Are you doing enough to safeguard and protect your small business data?
Small businesses are widely adopting data back-up practices to ensure data is retrievable should a disaster occur, but gaps remain. Cloud Facts for SMBs

62% of SMBs are using some type of cloud application now, up significantly from a year before. (Gartner’s Technology Research Group, December 2012)“

The bottom line: Early adopters are finding serious benefits, meaning that cloud computing is real and warrants your scrutiny as a new set of platforms for businesses applications” (Q&A: By 2011, CIOs Must Answer The Question, “Why Not Run In the Cloud?”, Forrester Research, INC., August 2009)“

With Office 365, there’s no reason to compromise

by Michael Atalla

A lot is said these days about the choices people and organizations are faced with when adopting technology. In the end, it’s all about productivity. All of these decisions are made with the aim of optimizing your productivity — whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, accountant, student, or business person.

As people navigate these decisions, their ability to do great work revolves around having the right mix of capabilities delivered by a company they can trust. Why? Because there’s an actual cost to compromising our productivity. There’s a cost to the time and money spent retraining workers to use unfamiliar applications andapplications that don’t do what people need them to do or that require workarounds.
