Watch City Council live

The Hoboken City Council will continue their budget hearings with directors on Saturday, Feb. 13 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

They will conduct their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in City Hall, but residents can watch the meeting live on www.hudsonreporter.com and comment on the action.

Council President Peter Cunningham and Mayor Dawn Zimmer said this week that they were unhappy that Fiscal Monitor Judy Tripodi overruled the council after the prior meeting, replacing over $1 million in funding to emergency budget appropriations that the council had deemed unnecessary.

The city is still waiting for the state to release the contents of a police audit that could impact the budget and ongoing police contract negotiations.
