Office 2007: Why you shouldn’t buy from a big box store.
It’s easy to walk into a store and pick up the retail version of Office 2007 or take the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) version when you buy a new computer, but there are some big reasons to avoid it ? Microsoft’s Open License, Microsoft’s volume licensing for businesses with 5 to 250 computers, has three major advantages for businesses:
1. It costs less. Open License provides discounts off the retail price of the software.
2. It’s faster. Open License software takes less time to install because it uses one authorization number and the installation can be copied from one computer to another. So, it’s also more efficient in labor.
3. It’s made for business. Business computers are replaced more often than home computers and with Open License you can transfer the license off an old computer and on to a new machine. You cannot do this with OEM licenses.
So, be careful before grabbing Office 2007 off the shelf. Want pricing and answers? Contact us

Manage Your Desktops From Your Server
Just when you think you’ve followed all the rules to safeguard your business assets against viruses and hackers and burglars, along comes an employee with a “better” idea. Only it’s not, and it could unravel all of the smart security moves you have implemented so far. As you know, it takes a major commitment to properly safeguard your business from external threats. If you’ve started that process by updating your software and virus protection and installing a firewall, you’ve already made a significant investment of time, effort and money. Unfortunately, a lack of stringent administrative procedures can unwittingly sabotage that security investment, reversing the changes you’ve made or inadvertently introducing new risks. Users may not stay current on updates and patches, they may download unauthorized and potentially harmful software and they may not be vigilant about unauthorized access to data on their computers.
