Police are NOW Copiloting with Copilot

Officer Randy Chuck was struggling to get his reports done within the day. People were getting stockpiled in the jail cells, he was behind on submitting additional documentation to the courts, and he had a fiesta of problems. Just when he felt like screaming, Chief Taser walked over and said, “What’s the hold-up? You have two DUIs in the cell. I need reports, man. Let’s go. TODAY!”

Chuck responded, “I got a thing tonight, Chief. There’re not enough hours in the day to complete my tasks, Sir.”

“Well, you shouldn’t be so good at your job then. You’ve got the arrest, right? Reports come with that hot stuff,” the Chief replied. Interrupting himself, he muttered, walking away, “And don’t let me start on Judge Kate’s request.”

Chuck called his wife. “Hey, listen Freida, I won’t be home tonight.”

His wife whined, “Randy, you promised that you would help me get things set for Jeremy’s birthday.”

“I know, babe, but I have been so behind with my duties that I have to get ahead of it. Chief Taser is on my back. Please don’t cut the cake until I get home. Can you do that for me?”

“Hmm, I can’t promise that,” Freida said. “Jeremy is turning five years old; his wait ratio is 0 to 0.”

Just then, Peggy walked over to Randy. Randy covered the phone. Peggy leaned in and whispered, “You’ll be on time.”

Randy raised his eyebrows. “Babe, sounds like Pegs may have a solution. Let’s see what she’s touting.”

“Go Peggy!” his wife yelled. “Speak soon.”

“Okay,” Randy said.

Randy used the hydraulics to lower his chair. “Let’s hear it, Peggy.”

Peggy started, “Officer Randy, the answer to all your problems is Copilot. Have you taken eMazzanti Technologies’ Master class?”

“No, I can’t say I have,” Randy admitted.

“Well, it’s worth having a look,” Peggy started again. “Let’s visit their website. They have a resource center where we can help ourselves to better understand different software, or just basic managed services.”

“Oh, there is Copilot. Scroll up,” Randy blurted out.

“You have 2 more hours in this day. I would give eMazzanti a call if you get stuck,” Peggy said.

She walked away. Randy yelled out, “It can help me write reports?”

“Don’t act so surprised,” Peggy yelled back. “Maybe start reading your emails and you won’t miss out on gems like this. Work smarter, not harder.”  She winked from the other side of the room.

What can Copilot do for Officer Randy?

  • Copilot can automate routine and administrative tasks like writing reports and creating or generating forms. It can write reports and organize case files. Since Copilot is already integrated into Randy’s custom software tools, if he starts now, he will free up more time for policing.
  • Copilot can help officers analyze crime patterns, trends, or statistics more effectively. This is called Data Analysis and Crime Patterns. By assisting in writing code for data analysis, this would streamline data-driven decisions on resource allocation, patrolling, and crime prevention strategies.
  • Copilot can assist developers and programmers by improving their internal software. Many police stations depend on internal software for case management, personnel tracking, and communications.
  • Copilot can assist in creating training simulations or databases that help officers practice handling different scenarios, or use custom software to track training outcomes and adjust training programs.
  • Copilot can help write secure code to protect against data breaches, ensuring that the police station’s digital infrastructure works at its optimum and stays protected.
  • Copilot can help build tools that analyze written or spoken communication, like transcribing interviews or scanning documents for key phrases, making investigations more efficient.

That’s just part of its timesaving abilities. Copilot also can search internal emails for dates and times of conversations, respond to emails in Outlook, switch from locating internal requests or demands to web searches where a user can ask it to complete research, and so much more.

Within an hour, Chuck was able to get hands-on Copilot training from an eMazzanti engineer.  Chuck looked at the clock and knew that he would make it home on time.

Chief Taser hustled out of his office as he and a few officers were heading to a hostage situation. Winded, the chief said, “Randy, your report numbers are changing significantly.” Still a little breathless, he said, “Copilot, isn’t it?”

Chuck looked up. “How do you know?”

“Because I got a good deal on it from eMazzanti. They are gold partners, so they shaved a couple of dollars off.”

Chuck snapped open a Coke, took a gulp, and said, “You know, you could have told me that from the beginning.”

“Yeah, well, I was enjoying seeing you sweat,” the chief said. “I am now the hostage negotiator. Depending on how quickly I get out of this, I’ll see you at Jeremy’s party.”

The chief stopped in his tracks and said, “Peggy, run in my office and grab my phone. I’m going to Copilot this situation.”

Chuck said, “You can’t ask Copilot to walk you through what to say in a hostage situation.”

The Chief saluted and said, “Watch me.”

An hour later, the chief rang Chuck’s doorbell. The officer ran to the door, raising his voice in disbelief, “You didn’t.”

“Oh, but I did,” the chief said.

Freida walked over. “Welcome, Chief. What’s all the commotion about?”

The chief looked in Chuck’s eyes and said, “If you tell her, I’ll have to kill you.”

Silence held for about 30 seconds, before they both broke out in uncontrollable laughter.
