What Does Your Peace of Mind Cost?

Peace of mind is hard to come by, and once you find it, there is a struggle to keep it. So, what does peace of mind cost? That’s a choice we all have to make, but make sure that you are well-informed about the cost before you settle for anything. Intellectual technology, for example, is just one of those things that people struggle with. There are so many different kinds of technology being offered in the world today. How would anybody know what to choose?

When I talk to my customers, one of my first questions is, “What problem can I solve for you today?”

Let’s go through a scenario.

Calvin had to fire his in-house IT guy, Ed, because he was napping on the job, missing calls, and had no follow-through when it came to replying to associates. Ed was making $104,000 a year. Calvin has a description of Ed’s job, but he is not clear on what Ed really did, day to day.

Ed managed 50 desktops, four WatchGuard M series firewalls, eight WatchGuard access points, two servers, one BDR, and 83 Microsoft licenses through a CSP. Among other things, he would troubleshoot desktops and add software when needed.

The last message that Calvin sent to Ed was to add SOC, MFA, monthly dark web scans, and MXINSPECT training via a third party, to ensure that the required security requirements were met.

When Calvin realized that this had not been done, he was furious. Calvin was already a bit anxious and impatient, but he felt like he had given Ed more than enough time to ensure that these services were added — four months, to be exact. “That little weasel,” he thought .

Calvin went into search mode online, looking for a reputable IT company. He knew that he wanted to hire someone with years of experience, customer service, and follow-through. TODAY! Up came eMazzanti Technologies.

As he scrolled through the MSP’s website, Calvin remembered the time he fell off his bike and dislocated his shoulder. The muscle relaxer that he was given in the ER was nothing short of mercy for the pain. He felt that same sense of relaxation as he realized that eMazzanti met all his criteria.

Calvin immediately reached out. I answered, “This is Al. How can I solve your problem today?” That was just what Calvin needed to hear. He rattled off his dilemma to me, and I let him talk. After he finished briefing me, Calvin said, “23 years in business, right?” I replied, “Yes, sir.”

He interjected, “So can you help me today?”

“I sure can.”

“Well, what do you have for me?” he said with a sigh.

“Well, based on your need, I am going to start you on E365 Premium with Business Premium Computer, which includes:

  • Office Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Email: 50 GB mailbox per user
  • Cloud Storage: 1 TB OneDrive per user
  • Collaboration: Microsoft Teams
  • Security: Microsoft Defender
  • Device Management: Microsoft Intune
  • Information Protection: Microsoft Purview Information Protection
  • Video Editing: Clipchamp
  • Add/remove accounts/licensing:
  • Manage roles
  • Maintenance within the Office 365 platform/anything completed in the admin portal:

            – Manage/create Retention Policies

            – Manage Password Policy

            – Manage Onboarding/Off-boarding Office 365 accounts

            – Elevate O365 platform issues with Microsoft using Partner Support

            – Manage domain names

            – inform of overages of licenses

            – Reset passwords

            – Create a distribution group and manage membership

            – Open support requests to Microsoft

  • Troubleshoot multiple MS Office 365 applications issues

This is all of IT wrapped up in one.

I continued, “We can manage any firewall, but in your case, we are a platinum partner with WatchGuard. Therefore, we can add you to our network and get your firewall and access points set up in a matter of minutes if you have all the information. Also, at no extra charge, I can set up VPN tunnels.”

I also told Calvin that I could have an agent on his servers within the hour. “In addition, regarding your BDR unit — just a side note, Al — we can put you on Azure Cloud backups and save you some money. With all of these third-party fees, plus the amount you were paying for in-house IT, eMazzanti Technologies can service you for a fraction of that cost. I have also included SOC, MFA (AuthPoint), MXINSPECT, MXINSPECT Training, and Dark Web Scans.”

Then I asked the clincher: “Al, how much does your peace of mind cost?’ eMazzanti can offer you the kind of peace that surpasses understanding. If you have an extra hour to go over all of the services that I mentioned and how they tie into your needs, sign an MSA, which opens your account, and an ACH form. I can have an engineer there in less than an hour, and two others working on adding agents to your hardware. Will that work for you?”

“That absolutely works for me!” He exclaimed.

“Then let’s get started.” And we did.
