What You Need to Know about Windows 10 features Discussed on Technology Talk Radio Program

eMazzanti Technologies CEO previews exciting Windows 10 features in blogtalkradio program July 28, 2015

Hoboken, New Jersey - (Vocus) July 29, 2015 — NYC area IT consultant Carl Mazzanti, CEO of eMazzanti Technologies, discussed exciting new features of Windows 10 on the blogtalkradio program, “Keeping Technology Simple” hosted by Jim Blue, technology advisor, speaker and President of BlueTutor.com. The program aired at 11:00 am (EDT) on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, just ahead of the Windows 10 launch date, July 29.

Anyone can listen to the recorded program, “What You Need to Know about Windows 10” online.

During the program, Mazzanti summarized some of the exciting new features that consumers can expect in Windows 10 and explained the new Edge browser included with the operating system, as well as upgraded security features.

“With Windows 10, consumers get the best features of Windows 8, the productivity of Windows 7 and a platform that allows them to consume information however they want,” stated Mazzanti. “Windows 10 is the first truly innovative platform offering because the apps that you need are being delivered as web services.”

Windows 10 works with multiple devices, including smartphones, phablets, Xbox, HoloLens, touch-enabled Surface televisions, tablets, 2-in-1s, workstations and desktops, explained Mazzanti. It allows users to move from one device to another with the same experience, automatically switching to tablet mode when the keyboard is detached.

Mazzanti described how a user wearing the new HoloLens see-through holographic computer can walk into a room and start working on a 3D rendering or see a virtual apartment with a fully functional virtual TV on the wall. As he walks from room to room, the TV follows him as it continues to play a movie.

Mazzanti also informed listeners that although Microsoft has added a sleek, new interface in Windows 10, the underlying code set is relatively unchanged from Windows 7 and Windows 8 with some additions, but few “changes under the hood.” He went on to explain that drivers for existing printers and applications are all generally the same.

Microsoft Edge, is a new browser included with Windows 10. Mazzanti described how Edge users can markup web pages and send them to others. For example when getting married, idea pages can be annotated and easily sent to designers.

When asked about improved security, Mazzanti commented that Microsoft had decreased the attack surface of the user interface and that, by default, the system automatically updates security.

Blue informed listeners that the Windows 10 upgrade will be free to Windows 7 and Windows 8 Home and Professional users for one year (from the launch date, July 29). Home users will have the option to upgrade or not by clicking on a small Windows icon found at the right end of the taskbar. For those that accept, the upgrade will be downloaded automatically and users can install it right away or pick a time that’s good for them.
